Lori Michaels

Lori has been involved in dog sports for over 30 years, and has been an agility instructor for the last 24. She and her dogs have won multiple national titles in addition to represented the USA internationally eight times with her Sheltie, Skye and Border Collie, Solei.  Lori and Solei  earned medals in individual and/or team events at many of their international competitions (World Agility Open (2012-2015), FCI Agility World Championship (2015, 2016 and 2017) and IFCS World Agility Championship (2014).  Mooz and Aero have also had the honor of being named as alternates to several European Open teams.

In addition to competing, Lori is also a certified UKI agility judge and one of the selected course reviewers for the organization. Beyond traveling the country to judge competitions, she also assisted in developing the UKI Judge's Education program.  

 

Although she and her dogs have enjoyed success in both national and international competition, Lori has a passion for teaching her students the necessary connection and teamwork to reach their own goals with their dogs.  From earning their first titles to winning medals overseas, Lori enjoys celebrating all the successes her amazing students have earned. 

 

Lori's has experience owning, training or handling a wide variety of breeds and rescues in agility competitions ranging from Yorkies to Great Danes.  Her current  household is currently run by 3 border collies; C-Ya, Mooz and Lua, along with Sheltie, Aero.

Cassie Schmidt

Cassie Schmidt began competing in dog agility in 2006 with the family Labradoodle, Roxy, as a hobby. However, both Cassie and Roxy found agility so much fun that it soon became an obsession. Cassie and Roxy began training with Lori Michaels in 2007.

 

Cassie and her dogs have won several National Championships. In 2014, her miniature poodle, Bliss, won both the AKC National Agility Championship and the USDAA Grand Prix Championship. Cassie and Bliss represented the USA internationally eleven times during Bliss's career, including three Agility World Championships and seven European Open Championships. Cassie’s current competition poodle, True, represented the USA at the Agility World Championships in 2022, and at the European Open every year since 2018. Cassie's youngest poodles, Glow and Sola, are just beginning their agility careers.

 

Cassie and her husband, David, live in Lee’s Summit, MO. They have three grown children and six adorable grandchildren.
